Rose Ann Percival of the Department of Human Services, Developmental Disabilities Services
Division, will share information about a new option in the In-Home Supports Waiver, called Self-
Directed Services (SDS). She will provide the latest update concerning the program, how it works
and information about the evaluation of the SDS pilot last year. Whether your loved one is
already receiving waiver services or is on the waiting list, you will want to hear about this new
option.
NOTE -- Town Hall Meeting: Immediately following this presentation, Leadership Education in
Neuro-developmental Disabilities (LEND) Interns from the OU Health Sciences Center, will be
holding a “town hall” meeting. They are asking for our participation in the Family Perspective of
Family Centered Care (FCC). The results of their findings will go into a position paper and then
be further produced into a pamphlet for practitioners and professionals who serve our families
as they provide their services for individuals with disabilities.
Please plan to stay for a short time after the meeting to give your definition of FCC; your good
and bad experiences with FCC services: and what professionals need to know to better serve our
children and their families.
Of interest, DSACO’s Holli Harjo is a LEND Intern in Parent/Family Issues. LEND is a one year
course in interdisciplinary leaderships skills. Holli is the only parent discipline working with the
interns from occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, psychology, public health,
audiology, pediatric medicine, nursing, nutrition and social work.
Childcare will be provided, please RSVP to Fara Taylor at 405-831-1275 or email
