American Sign Language Professional Training Workshop
September 28 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
On Saturday, September 28, 2019, we will provide space for a phase 1 workshop designed to help all professionals understand the basics of American Sign Language, how it is used, and how it benefits families. The request has been made by many professionals to receive sign language training that they will be able to use with the students and the adults that they may work with. This workshop will be 5 hours in length and would meet the requirements for professional development hours. Lunch will be provided and all materials will be sent directly to all attendees to print out and have ready for the workshop. This helps to keep the cost of the workshop low and provide all professionals the ability to attend at a reasonable cost. At DSACO, we have seen first hand the many benefits of incorporating ASL into everyday lives and highly recommend that all professionals take advantage of this amazing workshop.
The workshop is conducted by Master Instructor, Gwen Cox, who has taught for over 23 years across North America and Canada. Some may recognize her for her association with PBS Signing Time. She helped establish the Signing Time Academy that has instructors all over the world. She also was a cerified Interpreter of the Deaf for many years and chose to use her skills to help others learn to use ASL. This is an all adult workshop. We will begin promptly at 10 AM and will conclude by 3PM. Certificates of Completion will be provided at the conclusion for those who attended. Seating will be limited, so reserve your seat today.
