DSACO is excited to partner with British Swim School to offer an inclusive, all-abilities Spring Break Swim Camp designed to build essential life skills through water safety and swim instruction. This program is structured to align with Oklahoma State Waiver guidelines, making it eligible to be added to a participant’s Individual Plan (IP) and paid through waiver funds, or families may choose to self-pay.

Program Overview
This four-day swim camp focuses on safety, skill development, and confidence-building in the water—while having fun along the way!

  • Day 1 – Individual Assessment:
    Each participant will complete an assessment to determine current abilities, comfort level, and support needs. This ensures appropriate grouping and individualized instruction.
  • Days 2–4 – Skill-Building Lessons:
    Participants will engage in structured swim lessons that build on assessment results, focusing on water safety, floating, basic strokes, breathing techniques, and overall comfort in the water.

Key Features

  • Open to ages 3 months and older
  • Parents/caregivers are required to remain on-site during sessions
  • Group lessons with up to 8 swimmers per session
  • 45-minute sessions each day
  • Instructors are Safe Swim Certified and trained through Angel Fish, an all-abilities certification program ensuring safety, adaptability, and inclusive instruction
  • Emphasis on:
    • Water and personal safety
    • Building independent life skills
    • Confidence, social engagement, and fun

Waiver-Aligned & Funding Options
This program supports goals commonly outlined in Oklahoma State Waiver IP plans, including:

  • Community participation
  • Skill acquisition and maintenance
  • Health, wellness, and safety

Families may:

  • Self-pay, or
  • Use waiver funds by adding Swim Camp to their Individual Plan (IP).

Swim Camp provides the equivalent of a full month of swim lessons in just one week, making it a powerful opportunity for accelerated learning, confidence-building, and essential water safety skills during Spring Break.
