Self-Advocacy Center
Welcome to the Self-Advocacy Center
At the Self-Advocacy Center, we empower young adults with Down syndrome, ages 18 to 21, to speak up, make choices, and lead lives of independence and confidence. Our program is designed specifically for this age group as they transition into adulthood and begin shaping their own futures.
This is a year-long program that runs during the school year, offering weekly sessions focused on real-life skills such as communication, decision-making, self-determination, employment readiness, and community involvement.
Participants will engage in hands-on workshops, peer learning, and leadership activities—all in a supportive, inclusive environment. At the end of the program, each self-advocate will be honored with an official certificate of completion, recognizing their growth, commitment, and accomplishments.
Whether you're learning how to express your needs, preparing for the workplace, or building lifelong confidence, the Self-Advocacy Center is here to support and celebrate you every step of the way.
